Applications Open for Student Ambassador Program

Advanced Textiles Association® (ATA) announces applications are now open for its new  Student Ambassador program. The program’s mission is to bring student voices to the association to bridge the gap between education and the textile industry. 

Students who participate in the program will help with the following:

  • Advanced Textiles Expo® (and possibly other events)
  • ATA podcasts
  • ATA advisory boards and councils
  • Promote ATA through industry connections and social media
  • Recruit other students for the program

Participants will foster leadership and communication skills, and personal and professional development while creating long-lasting relationships with industry professionals. This is a volunteer position with the option to fulfill academic requirements if needed.

Student Ambassador Qualifications 
• Enrolled in an academic program related to the textile industry or has related coursework in the textiles industry
• Must be a full-time student (12 credits)Minimum 2.75 GPA
• 1 recommendation letter from faculty or an advisor
• 24 or more academic credits fulfilled at your university
• Enrolled in an academic program related to the textile industry
• A positive and enthusiastic attitude
• Excellent communication and time-management skillsA willingness to be mentored
• An interest in engaging with professionals in the industry and speaking to students at your university about ATA and its offerings
• Ability to work well with others and be a team player
• Knowledge of your university and its degree offerings related to the industry
• A willingness to learn and expand your knowledge about ATA and the industry

Ambassador Commitments
• 1-year term 
• Attend required training session(s)
• Wear ATA-provided company apparel
• Participate in ATA’s annual Advanced Textiles Expo event
• Participate in panel discussions on ATA podcasts
• Promote ATA events on social media and peer-to-peer
• Maintain full-time enrollment (12 credits) at your university
• Maintain a 2.75 GPA

Ethical Standards
Student ambassadors will be representing ATA in a professional capacity. They are expected to maintain the highest academic and professional standards, honesty and responsible behavior required by ATA and their university. 

Selection and Interview Process
A completed application needs to be submitted for interested students. The selection committee will then schedule a formal interview. Students will be notified if they are accepted within 1-2 weeks of the initial interview. The interview will consist of an ATA staff member and an Emerging Technologies Council Advisory Board member and will last approximately 30 minutes.
