Specialty Fabrics Review has been awarded the first-place Gold Award for Overall Excellence by the Minnesota Media and Publishing Association (MMPA). Galynn Nordstrom, senior editor of Review, accepted the award November 1 at MMPA’s annual gala that recognizes publishing excellence.

Todd Berger, senior editor of Geosynthetics, accepted a second-place Silver Award in the directories category for Geosynthetics Specifier’s Guide. Review was also awarded a third-place Bronze Award for single-page or spread design.

Elisa Bernick and Sammi Jones are associate editors of Review, and Cathy Rose and Kari Pederson design the publication. Megan Shircel designs Geosynthetics.

ATA president and CEO Steve Schiffman serves as president on the MMPA board of directors. ATA conference manager Kara Mickolichek is a member of this year’s MMPA event committee.

The MMPA Excellence Awards competition was created to recognize and foster outstanding publishing achievement, both print and electronic. Winners were chosen by a panel of judges selected and assigned based on their expertise, experience, and ability to judge entries fairly. Several ATA staff members participated in judging non-ATA entries in this year’s competition.
