M1 FR specification

Published On: July 1, 2011

We have an FR certificate that states the fabric meets M1. What cert is that?

We’re guessing that, if M1 is the only FR specification certification that your fabric has, that it originates in Europe. M1 is a classification that comes from NF P92-503, a French flammability specification written by AFNOR. In this test method, the fabric is exposed repeatedly to an electric burner and aspects such as duration of flaming, production of burning droplets and length/width of the damaged section are noted.
