Overview of Changes
Effective Jan. 1, 2023
Overview of Changes
Over the last few years and throughout the pandemic, the Advanced Textiles Association has continued to develop new member benefits, delivered more member programming in new and exciting ways, and launched new networking opportunities to connect our membership and industry. This is in addition to the existing services we provide, including the advocacy work we do at the federal and state levels on behalf of ATA members.
Every dollar of member dues we receive each year is spent on member programming with nothing left over to cover administrative, overhead, and other expenses. For years we’ve relied entirely on non-dues revenue (media, events, conferences) to cover our operations. Like many other Associations, we’re also navigating rising costs due to inflation that have impacted our operations. Membership dues are critical to helping us expand member services and, in turn, improve the value we can provide to you.
When compared to other Associations of our size, our dues revenue percentage (17.5%) falls significantly below the industry average (46.6%) as a percentage of total revenue. (source: ASAE Operating Ration Report 2021). To grow, enhance member value and ensure we have a healthy Association for years to come we need to restructure our membership dues model.
After presenting extensive data to the ATA Board of Directors, they have agreed with the need for a dues restructure and increase effective January 1, 2023. Included in this dues restructure/increase are the following changes:
Member companies, regardless of Class, can participate in as many divisions as they’d like and there are no additional fees beyond annual dues (excludes Executive/Advisory councils).
- Member classes and revenue tiers have been revised for the first time since 2011
- Increases will vary depending on Class and current division participation
- We have split member dues into two main categories:
Suppliers/Distributors/Converters
End product fabricators/manufacturers, Event/Rental, and all other general member company types
There will be no change for reciprocal, affiliate and supporting organization memberships
Although effective on January 1, 2023 the increase will align with your annual renewal date, meaning you will not see the increase until your annual renewal.

Thank you for your understanding and continuing support, passion and engagement in ATA and our industry. We are proud to work on your behalf and look forward to building a solid foundation for our future.
Sincerely,
Steve Schiffman
