Teijin’s functional polyester fabric achieves the pile structure of toweling, offering comfort, water absorbency, a soft texture and a unique bulky-but-lightweight feeling. Water diffusion is nearly five times faster than that of general fast-drying materials, and heat insulation is three times greater than that of fleece. Heat is retained even when the material is wet. The company is developing a variety of applications for the fabric, focusing on 2016 fall and winter sportswear, as well as uniforms, bedding and industrial materials.
