Shelter Structures America, a provider of temporary clearspan tent structures and distributor of event furniture to the special event rental industry announced today the purchase of a new 15,000-square-foot distribution center in Chicago, Illinois. The new facility will offer clients access to premier products while reducing transportation costs and product delivery time to the Midwest and North Eastern regions of the United States.

“Adding the Chicago facility is a major step in our national distribution strategy. It brings inventory closer to our clients, which in turn reduces transportation costs and turnaround times,” remarked Robert Kraak, president of Shelter Structures America.  

Bobby Braun, a long-time event industry professional, will be at the helm of the new facility, located in Carol Stream, a brief 30-minute drive from O’Hare International Airport. According to Braun, the new location will house a diverse selection of event furniture as well as a wide range of tent structures and accessories.

As Shelter Structures America continues to grow, plans are in motion to add additional distribution facilities in Virginia and Florida to further serve the East Coast. “Being closer to our clients, especially given the high cost of transportation, is an important growth element in our national distribution strategy. It just makes sense,” says Keith Krzeminski, Shelter Structure America’s executive vice president.
