Bolger & O’Hearn (B&O), known for developing innovative specialty chemicals for the global textile industry, is manufacturing and donating hundreds of pounds of hand sanitizer to regional organizations on the front line fighting COVID-19.

B&O recently donated 722 pounds of hand sanitizer to Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. The donation is the equivalent of 3,610 individual 4.6 ounce containers of sanitizer and will be distributed as needed by the hospital.  

B&O also recently donated  202 pounds of hand sanitizer to the city of Fall River, Mass., for use by fire department personnel and other front line responders in that area. Bolger & O’Hearn has been located in Fall River since 1969. 

B&O is helping to fight the COVID-19 pandemic on other fronts, as well. This includes working closely with other leaders of the U.S. textile industry to develop medical textiles and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including masks, gowns, bed coverings, hospital room drapes and more.

B&O is seeing a high demand for Medical/Stormproof/Breathable OmniBloq®, a durable water repellent (DWR) developed for high-end performance apparel brands that surpasses industry standards for water and soil repellence. OmniBloq® provides resistance to fluid penetration, splatter and soils and a higher level of barrier protection for both woven and nonwoven textiles than standard industry DWR’s.
