Funds will help expand clothing line for children with Down syndrome.

Downs Designs recently raised $10,000 in a span of 24 hours through a Kickstarter campaign, giving the small business a much-needed boost.

Founded by Karen Bowersox, who was inspired by her granddaughter born with Down syndrome, the company is dedicated to providing clothes that fit and look great for children with Down syndrome. It offers 20 styles of jeans featuring an elastic waist, soft, stretchy denim and no button or zipper.

The Kickstarter campaign was started to expand the clothing line to include items such as dress pants, shorts and khakis. It closed on Sept. 14 with $22,651 raised. Visit the Downs Design website for more information.
