Attract new customers with skin-friendly and non-allergenic products.

Testing for allergenic effect and skin-friendliness guarantees products that are completely safe. That is an important sales argument for allergy sufferers and people with sensitive skin. For manufacturers, allergy sufferers and people with sensitive skin represent an interesting target market that it is worth attracting with the right products and sales claims. A free webinar at 15.00 hrs (CEST) on June 23, 2014, will explain how testing for skin compatibility can become the key that opens up this specialized market. The Hohenstein Institute in Bönnigheim, Germany, offers these tests on the basis of its testing for harmful substances in accordance with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.

Under Standard 100, products are specifically tested for listed harmful substances that are known to cause allergies or skin irritation. Especially for the 12 million people who suffer from contact allergies in Germany alone, effect-based testing provides an additional degree of security. With the help of standardized laboratory tests, any potential to cause irritation or allergies due to interaction between certain chemical substances, or combinations of them within a product, can be entirely ruled out. Manufacturers can then use the Hohenstein Quality Labels, “Skin-friendly” and “Nonallergenic,” to communicate the premium quality of their independently tested products in a convincing way to retailers and consumers.

The June 23 webinar will introduce both the test procedures and the associated marketing opportunities. Anyone interested in the webinar may sign up online.
