The MFA National Convention was held at the Charleston Marriott in Charleston, S.C., Jan. 17-19. Highlights of the convention include two pre-conference workshops focusing on hands-on learning of digital patterning technology and a session on sewing machines.

On the first day of the conference, attendees visited LaPorte Upholstery and Custom Canvas of Charleston and took in demonstrations on frame bending, enclosures, upholstery and molding methods, followed by an outdoor BBQ lunch prepared with local, southern flavors.

In addition, the conference covered business topics; web marketing; marine dodgers; accessories; and tools, tips and tricks. Attendees report that their convention favorites were the networking opportunities, market day, shop tours and hands-on learning.
