MMI Textiles promotes key employees to management positions

Amy Bircher Hammond, president and founder of MMI Textiles Inc., a supplier of custom and stock woven fabrics, has announced the promotion of two employees to management positions.

Nickolas Rivera started with MMI Textiles almost eight years ago when the company acquired NDW Textiles in 2006. During that transition, he learned a tremendous amount about the textile industry from both Jim and Karen Bircher. After a year of dedication and training in customer service, Rivera was promoted to production manager, a role in which he was able to work at meeting and exceeding customer expectations while strengthening long-term partnerships with key suppliers. In March 2014, Rivera was formally named as director of operations, where he will continue to serve as part of the management group headed by president Hammond.

Debbie Grant started with MMI Textiles four years ago in an administrative assistant/special project position working for Amy Bircher, which quickly developed to include customer service, marketing and the supervision of the marketing assistant. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising at Ohio State University in 1987, and joined MMI with more than 12 years experience in retail management, territory management, business development, marketing and national store planning while working at companies including JC Penney, American Greetings and Cole Vision.

Grant has spearheaded numerous projects including website redesign, annual trade shows, physical inventory, office relocation, and digital printing and hardware programs. She was promoted to office manager in March 2014.
