Cottonworks® Global Fabric Library now open

Published On: May 1, 2009

Cotton Incorporated, the association of America’s Cotton Producers and Importers, and LIM—The College of Business of Fashion, have joined together to open The Cottonworks Global Fabric Library in two LIM fashion merchandising studios at the college’s building on Fifth Avenue in New York City. Displaying fabrics from more than 350 mills, knitters and converters from the United States and abroad, the library will showcase fabrics in wovens, knits, home furnishings and lace-trim constructions that are either 100 percent cotton or are cotton-rich (60 percent cotton or more). Fabrics displayed at the library will be used in conjunction with several LIM courses, including “Textiles Product Development,” “Applied Fashion Merchandising,” and “Senior Fashion Merchandising Capstone.”

Cotton Incorporated, online at www.cottoninc.com, is funded by U.S. growers and importers of cotton and cotton textile products, acting as a research and marketing company representing upland cotton. LIM is the nation’s only college focused exclusively on the study of business and fashion. For information, visit www.limcollege.edu.
